OMAHA, Neb. — Alegent Health is ranked in the top 100 most integrated healthcare systems in the nation, according to SDI and Modern Healthcare magazine.
As the only health care system in Nebraska or Iowa to make the ranking, Alegent Health placed 44th on the list, scoring 82.18 on a 100-point scale. SDI is a healthcare analytics company that conducts an annual assessment of the 100 most highly integrated healthcare networks (IHNs). SDI's report is regarded as the nation's premier rating system by evaluating IHNs on their performance and degree of integration.
"This recognition looks at Alegent Health as a whole system – and our ranking is a tribute to the teamwork of our employees, hospital campuses and clinic locations," says Ken Lawonn, senior vice president and chief information officer at Alegent Health. "Recognition like this affirms our Mission to provide high-quality care for the body, mind and spirit of every person."
Measuring eight performance indicators, SDI surveyed 576 health systems in the United States on clinical integration, technology integration, utilization and services offered. In light of the current economy and the rising national cost of health care, financial stability is another indicator that carries great influence.
"At Alegent Health, we define value as the sum of adding high quality, low cost and exceptional patient experience together," added Lawonn. "We are focusing our efforts on this goal to deliver the highest quality of patient-centered care."
Alegent Health has implemented well-integrated information systems, embraced new technology, renovated facilities and improved processes that keep patients at the center of health care delivery, said Lawonn.
Alegent Health has been associated with the top integrated healthcare network’s list since 2004, including placing ninth in 2008 on the top 10 most integrated healthcare systems.
