Alegent Health Clinic Welcomes Husband & Wife Surgeon Team

OMAHA, Neb. – Alegent Health Clinic welcomes a husband and wife surgery team to its newest specialty – General Surgery. Drs. Jonathan and Patricia Limpert are scheduled to join the surgical staffs of Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Lakeside Hospital and Midlands Hospital on July 1.
As board certified general surgeons, the Limperts are trained to perform surgical procedures for conditions affecting almost any area of the body, though Patricia will perform breast surgeries exclusively at the Bergan Mercy Breast Center once it opens to patients.
Both of the Limperts attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where Jonathan earned his medical degree in 1999. Patricia earned her medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine two years later. Prior to joining Alegent Health Clinic, the Limperts were in private practice in the St. Louis, MO area. Jonathan and Patricia both worked with Bellevue Surgical Associates and SSM Saint Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis. Patricia also practiced with SSM Saint Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood.
The Limperts played an instrumental role in the opening and continued growth of SSM St. Mary’s Breast Center. Jonathan founded the center and at one point served as its director, while Patricia was the center’s medical director until accepting a position with Alegent Health.
Because of their similar expertise, the Limperts have collaborated on research, including a study published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery on the impact of surgery on extremely low birth weight infants and a Clinical Reviews in Oncology/Hematology article on colon and rectal cancer in the elderly.
