Alegent Health Foundation Announces 2009 Heritage Award Recipients

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Excellence is not simply a tradition at Alegent Health, for some it is a way of life. The Alegent Health Foundation will honor those exemplary employees this spring with its 2009 Heritage Award. The annual Heritage Dinner – now in its 26th year – will be Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Harrah’s Grand Ballroom in Council Bluffs.
Nominations for the 2009 Heritage Awards were made this past fall and are presented to individuals who excel in the following four areas: Arts/Humanities, Business, Education and Health/Medicine. The following are people are recipients of the 2009 awards by category:
Arts/Humanities – Frankie Parrott
Business – Joseph D. Beraldi
Education – Marvin Arnpriester
Health/Medicine - Mary Lou McGinn
The Heritage Award recognizes individuals from southwest Iowa for their professional and personal contributions to the community. The Heritage Award was created to celebrate and pay homage to those who have enriched the community and established a legacy on which future Heritage Award honorees can build. Each year a committee of community leaders and Mercy Hospital staff coordinate the event. Chairing this year’s event are Jim and Becky Burgart and co-chairs are Bob and Martha Mundt. Other committee members include Deanna Boese and Tam Trinh, John and Tracy Jerkovich, Mick and Judy Guttau, Dr. Jeff and Cheri Snyder, and Dr. James and Jane Whalen.
