Alegent.com Wins National Honors at Internet Conference

LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Alegent Health was among some 225 health care organizations, representing a broad industry spectrum, to receive recognition for its outstanding Web site during the 11th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. The eHealth Marketing Team’s writing, design and functionality of Alegent.com earned three awards including: a Gold Award for the Best Newsroom, Award of Distinction for Best Quality Communication and Award of Distinction for best Health/Health Care Content.
“Alegent Health is proud to be recognized for the look and content of Alegent.com. We recognize that interest in the Web—particularly rich media often called Web 2.0—is huge and is changing the way health content is presented. Therefore, our eHealth Marketing Team went to work making significant changes and improvements to the website to engage our consumers in taking control of making their own health care decisions,” said Jackie Goss, operations director of eHealth Marketing Team.
Alegent.com features a fresh new look that is more interactive. Consumers can easily access Alegent Health’s quality reports and My Cost, the unique consumer health care cost estimator tool directly from the home page. The latest national health news and current Alegent Health initiatives are also accessible from the home page along with easy links for finding a new physician, a baby born at an Alegent Health facility or information on other service Alegent Health offers. In addition, the News Center has integrated streaming video, press releases and podcasts to give consumers additional sources and tools for health information and services available right at their fingertips.
Winners of platinum, gold, silver, and distinction awards represented 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. Awards were given in 12 different categories: Best Site Design, Best Interactive, Best Health/Healthcare Content, Best e-Business, Best Care/Disease Management, Best Rich Media, Best Employee Recruitment, Best Quality Communication, Best Newsroom, Best Overall Internet Site, Best Intranet Site, and eHealth Organizational Commitment.
Judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization’s classification. They also reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The best intranet site category, for example, had to pass muster on more than 60 factors.
