The Alegent Health Alegent Health Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children
(PMIC) provides a holistic approach to caring for adolescents with substance
abuse, behavioral and psychiatric conditions. The Institute assesses the
needs of each individual entering the program and develops a treatment plan
that addresses their immediate and long-term needs.
Through the program, we teach youth the necessary skills, behaviors, and
respect for themselves and others, to allow them to return to a less restrictive
environment as a happier, healthier individual. |

the family and youth to develop a personalized treatment plan that includes
a wide range of activities designed to heal the body, mind and spirit of each

PMIC provides a structured inpatient substance abuse treatment program for adolescents
who do not meet medical criteria for acute inpatient yet demonstrate the need
for a highly structured treatment milieu and 24 hour supervision.
Our Care Model
We use the twelve step model and trauma informed care model to address the co-occurring

We Recognize the Importance of Family
Behavioral or substance abuse problems in children affect all those who
care about them. Involving the entire family or support system is an important
part of the child’s recovery process. When the child returns home he or she
will need a strong support system to help maintain and improve upon the progress
made during treatment.
At Alegent Health Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children, we recognize the
importance of family involvement and encourage participation in family nights,
meetings, treatment reviews, telephone reviews and family therapy. We also encourage
an open line of communication between the families and our program therapist
throughout the youth’s stay.
