Q:  I had spinal fusion surgery about 8 months ago, but still have foot drop. What chance do I have of a full recovery?

A:  The answer to this question would depend on whether you had a foot drop before your surgery, and how long it had been present.  In general it is thought that some recovery may occur up to two years after decompression of the nerve.  Thus in your case you may still have hope for improvement for another 16 months.
