Alegent Health Names Emergency Services Medical Director
07/01/2003 Jeffrey T. Snyder, M.D., has been named medical director of Emergency Services for Alegent Health.
Dr. Snyder is board certified in emergency medicine. Prior to joining Alegent Health, Dr. Snyder served as director of emergency medicine at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage, Wis, since 1998. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in 1983 and completed a residency program in emergency medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine in 1986.
Previously, Dr. Snyder had been both director of emergency services for St. Rita�s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio, from 1990 to 1998 and also senior vice-president of Premier Health Care Services, Inc., Dayton, Ohio, from 1987 to 1998. Dr. Snyder is a founding member of Premier.
As medical director of Emergency Services, Dr. Snyder will lead an Emergency Services Coordinating Committee at Alegent Health comprised of Emergency Department physicians and staff as well as other practicing physicians. This group will collaboratively define the clinical quality and customer service goals for Alegent Health�s Emergency Departments.
According to Richard A. Hachten II, president of Alegent Health, the appointment of Dr. Snyder and the contracts with Premier and the current Emergency Department physician groups serving Bergan and Immanuel will allow Alegent Health to achieve its goal to ensure consistently excellent patient care experiences at all Alegent Health Emergency Departments. We have
combined the experience of our Emergency Department physicians, the emergency services expertise of Premier, and Alegent Health�s focus on high-quality, patient-centered care to build further on our exceptional emergency services,� he said.
Achieving system-wide quality patient care standards in its Emergency Departments is a key focus for Alegent Health. For more than two years, Alegent Health has been involved in a concentrated effort to enhance the delivery of emergency medicine services. Each year, the system cares for nearly 125,000 patients in its hospital Emergency Departments and Express Care facilities.
