It's scary having a baby. Just ask the Sternbergs and the Jensens. Both couples are expecting their first bundles of joy and the how to books aren't enough to get them through nine months of changes.
"We didn't have any idea what to expect," said a student in the class.
"I think there are just a lot of nervous jitters about not knowing what to expect, but I'm hoping this will ease our minds," said a student.
So the Jensens and the Sternbergs decided to enlist in baby camp, a class offered to expectant moms and dads that take them step by step into parenthood.
The class is taught by Elizabeth Phillippi, a Nurse Practitioner. She dispenses the information about routine tests, nutrition, exercise and baby's development. Information that can ease an expectant mom's fears and make the road ahead a little easier.
"I'm hoping to get some good insight on being healthy during the pregnancy and having a safe pregnancy," said a student.
"We've gotten a lot of advice from family and friends, but with this you're hearing from the experts," said a student.
The experts at Alegent's Baby Camp are on duty for the first four months of pregnancy then transition into childbirth education classes, giving expectant parents peace of mind and a head start.
