Alegent Health Heart & Vascular Institute at Lakeside Hospital
The new Lakeside Hospital will offer a wide range of heart and vascular services including:
- Cardiac catheterization
- Nuclear stress tests
- Echocardiography
- Vascular ultrasound
- Angioplasty
- Drug-eluting stent placement
- Full-service cardiac rehabilitation
- Emergency services
Referrals for cardiac surgery
- Patients needing cardiac surgery, such as open-heart bypass and off-pump coronary artery bypass surgeries, can be referred to Alegent Health Immanuel Medical Center or Bergan Mercy Medical Center, where most of the region’s cardiac surgeries are performed.

- Conveniently located for residents of western Douglas County
- First-floor location for easy access
- Available for elective physician-referred procedures
- Cardiologists will work with emergency physicians to provide state of the art care for patients having heart attacks and severe chest pain
Technology
- The new Cath Lab will include digital acquisition and flat-panel monitors, which allow cardiologists to view higher-quality images of the heart and its arteries. The images will be available for viewing at Lakeside as well as Bergan Mercy Medical Center and Immanuel Medical Center.
Staffing
- The RNs that will staff the cath lab have critical care and cardiac experience and the technologists have radiology and cardiac cath lab experience.
