Bergan Mercy Medical Center to Permanently Close Maternity Entrance
OMAHA, Neb.—Beginning Monday, Dec. 17, the Maternity Entrance at Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Medical Center will close permanently as part of the hospital's expansion and renovation project. Maternity patients will need to enter through the hospital's main entrance and use the south public elevators to gain access of the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Signs have been posted throughout the hospital to notify visitors of this change. Hospital staff will also available on a round-the-clock basis to offer directions and support. Maternity patients arriving by medical squad or the arrival of a neonatal transport team will enter the hospital through the Emergency Department and will then be escorted to their final destination.
Alegent Health would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during the hospital's construction, scheduled to be completed in 2009.
