Sports and Leisure Programs
Living life to the fullest is an important part of learning to live with a
physical disability. Golfing, playing softball or basketball, gardening,
fishing, going to the zoo or community playhouse and many more programs are
positive and satisfying leisure experiences for everyone.
The Immanuel Rehabilitation Center's Sports and Leisure Program gives persons
with physical disabilities the chance to gain new leisure skills, explore
community resources and understand special equiptment or approaches that can
lead to learning or re-learning a recreational interest. This extraordinary
program provides individuals, their family and friends an opportunity to reach
new levels of independence, meet new people and build life-long friendships.
Better skills, improved self-confidence and a sense of being involved in
something posititive bring about awareness that one is living life to the
fullest.
