Alegent Health Clinic in Pierce to Close

PIERCE, Neb. - The Alegent Health Clinic in Pierce will be closing effective January 2, 2007. Barry Tietgen, PA-C, will relocate to the Alegent Health Clinic in Norfolk, Neb., joining family care providers Gary Smith, M.D.; Scott Kindler, D.O.; and Kathy Effle-Meyer, ARNP, who began seeing patients in mid-December.

The decision to close was due to an area-wide provider shortage and Alegent Health's desire to provide high-quality health care to the residents who live there.

'The decision to close the Alegent Health Clinic in Pierce was difficult. But after careful consideration, we feel consolidating our resources at the Norfolk clinic location was the best way to provide patient-centered, high quality care for the body, mind and spirit of the residents in Madison and Pierce counties,' said Gayle Primrose, regional clinic administrator for Alegent Health.
