With some diagnostic centers, it can take days or weeks to get your results. Now there's a better, quicker way to accurately 
detect breast cancer and get treatment.
The Breast Health Center is now open at Alegent Health Lakeside Hospital. It offers technology and staff specifically dedicated to your breast health and well-being in a beautiful space that is welcoming and comfortable. Similar centers will be opening at Bergan Mercy and all Omaha-area Alegent Health hospitals.
Early Detection is Important
That's why we place emphasis on all three level of exams: self-exam, clinical exam and mammogram. You may receive a clinical breast exam at the time of your mammogram by our specially-trained breast health coordinator. She will also instruct you on how to do your monthly self-examination.
Less worry. Less waiting.
Our advanced digital mammography technology provides the highest level of accuracy for even the smallest tumors. With digital mammography, image capture is instant. There is no wait for a film to be developed to ensure the image is clear. It also can be zoomed in for further review. This is a capability not available for film mammography. You will receive your mammogram results in 24 hours.
But more importantly, if anything suspicious is found, we'll make sure that you receive all follow-up testing - including a biopsy, if necessary - within a matter of days, not weeks. And that takes at least a bit of anxiety out of the process.

Our Breast Health Centers offer an exceptional, specialized staff, including a fellowship-trained breast radiologist, on-site breast surgeons, a Breast Health Coordinator and mammography technologists.
