Features of this exciting new facility include:

• Sixteen of the 18 Emergency Department rooms at Lakeside Hospital will have the capability of monitoring cardiac patients.
  
  
• All Lakeside Hospital emergency Medicine physicians are residency trained and board certified in emergency medicine. All emergency nurses are specially trained in emergency care, setting an unmatched standard.
  
  
• Those with less severe conditions won’t have to wait behind the more critical patients because when you enter our doors, you will be placed in the Fast Track, an area set aside to treat less serious patients quickly.
  
  
• Wireless infrastructure allows the patient to be quickly taken to a comfortable, private room where the necessary registration information can be obtained at the bedside.
  
  
• All radiology at Lakeside Hospital will be digital, allowing pictures to be instantly available for reading, and the wireless infrastructure insures the hospital’s Laboratory and Diagnostic Center are alerted to the patient’s arrival so they can track his or her needs.
  
  
• All nurses, physicians and licensed paramedics will be linked by Spectralink phone, an internal communication device that works within the hospital.
  
  
• Orders can go to the pharmacy for medication and doctors can place other orders – all from the bedside without leaving the patient’s room.
  
  
• The state-of-the-art IBEX patient tracking system helps communicate in real time where the patient is in the treatment process.
  
  
• Once the patient’s information is in the computer system, it can be accessed later for future healthcare needs by the patient's physicians at any Alegent Health hospital.
