Intravascular ultrasound, also known as IVUS or intravascular echocardiography combines echocardiography and cardiac catheterization. Sound waves are used to produce an image of the coronary arteries and to see their condition. Acatheter is threaded through an artery and into your heart and uses sound waves to allow doctors look inside your blood vessels.
